    Weber State University is an NCAA Division I school, with basketball, cross-country, golf, tennis, track & field, and football for men and basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer, tennis, track & field, and volleyball for women. The team nickname is the Wildcats. The Wildcats play in the Big Sky Conference.

    Sports facilities include a football stadium with a 6 story “sky suites & press box facility,” an events center for basketball and volleyball, tennis courts, and indoor and outdoor tracks.

    There is a co-ed cheerleading squad, which competes in national championships, and a dance line.

    Weber State competes in the NCAA’s Division I in thirteen different intercollegiate athletic programs. The hockey program is top-ranked. The Wildcats compete in cross country, track and field, soccer, football, and men’s and women’s basketball, golf, and tennis. Athletic facilities include Stewart Stadium, the Dee Events Center, John Edman Tennis Courts, and the Swenson Indoor Track and William H. Child Outdoor Track. The Athletic Department keeps as its mission a dedication to helping students utilize athletics in achieving their academic goals and priorities.
